說明：
in one piece 是 prepositional phrase，當形容詞用，動詞用 ve。piece 原指一件、碎片。one piece 則指整件，解作完整無缺。in one piece 的相反義是 in pieces 或 to pieces，都是複數型。其慣用語有：go (all) to pieces; go to pieces; come to pieces：都是指化成無數碎片，引伸為精神崩潰、神情恍惚、心緒不寧的意思。fall to pieces 則指解體、分裂、倒塌。
